Win a signed copy of the Eventide EP!
Monique has quite a few Melbourne gigs coming up between now and the end of June and as a special treat for all you loyal gig goers we are going to raffle a signed copy of the Eventide EP. This 5 track EP was released in 1999 on the Columbia/Sony label and has been deleted for some years now.
The EP features the tracks Wrecking Ball, Way It Goes, A Better Way, Progress and Gold Dust and is a release that many people ask about at live shows. Having found an extra copy, we thought we'd give it back to a lucky punter. All you have to do is pay your $10 entry fee to any gig until the end of June (excludes the Rosstown on Saturday June 2nd as it is a free entry show) and you will receive a raffle ticket. The more shows you come to, the more tickets you get. The prize will be drawn on the last Thursday in June (Thursday June 28th) at The Empress Hotel, cnr Nicholson and Scotchmer Sts North Fitzroy.

Good luck and see you at a show soon!

The May Massive - a month of music ahead
Monique Brumby is testing out some new songs that will soon be recorded for her 4th album every Wednesday in May at The Wesley Anne in Northcote. These intimate acoustic shows will also feature some high callibre musical guests.
There seems to be a theme with these special guests which is quite coincidental in that they are all musical siblings!
Week one features Ella and Jesse Hooper who we always have fun with and who have some amazing new songs. You will love hearing their more familiar songs in an acoustic setting too!
Week two features Abbie Cardwell whose brother Jeb plays guitar with her more often than not. Abbie is a past JJJ Unearthed winner and has just released a new album which is a cracker!
Week three features Dave Higgins who, after producing and co-writing both overseas and in Australia with the likes of Jocelyn Brown, The Brand New Heavies, Pic Withers from Dire Straits and his sister, Missy Higgins, has put aside his studio and is currently writing for his forthcoming album.
Week four features Spirit Store comprising of twin sisters Julia and Sarah Gurry and their younger brother Matty. The music of Spirit Store can be described as lyrical essence bleeding into dynamic instrumentation, orchestrated around atmospheric sibling harmonies.
Week five features sisters Greer and Sophie Turner from Sydney band Modular Lounge whose debut album Nightwise has just been released. Their music has been described as everything from melodic pop to indie rock. The unique qualities of siblings harmonising is a dramatic contrast to their crunching interweaving guitars.
